I am working on getting a new forge built soon, which will make it easier to make bigger knives.

- My name is Tom Halloran. I am an American Bladesmith Society Apprentice, and I have been making knives since early 2008 when I got back from Iraq. I learned to forge and finish from ABS Mastersmith Ed Caffrey, in Great Falls Montana. http://www.caffreyknives.net I like to make hard use hunting knives and combat/tactical knives . I think a knife should be fully functional first, and then the looks will flow out of that. Ed told me this--"A knife should look good, feel good and work good" Pretty simple huh? I agree! One of my passions is bowhunting and making knives is a perfect fit with that. The only problem is trying to figure out some days whether I would rather hunt or be in the shop. Either way, I win.
